Former Elba football standout Michael Lindsey was one of eight students arrested in connection with the vandalism committed inside Elba High School on Tuesday. He has been charged with third degree felony burglary.
He was one of four students involved who are over the age of 18. The other students facing charges are Sage Kelley, Antonio Hill and J'Quentin Truitt, all were former Tigers football players.
The other four students arrested were 17 years old, so their names cannot be released.
Lindsey had a successful five-year career with Elba and signed a football scholarship with Troy on February 1. He was named the Class 2A State Championship Game's MVP as he led the Tigers to the title in Tuscaloosa.
Troy Director of Media Relations Adam Prendergast said the school is aware of the arrest, but it is too early to comment on the matter. He added the schools will let the legal process take its course before making a decision on Lindsey's future with the Trojans football team.
