Evelyn Joyce Watson Langford

Evelyn Joyce Watson Langford went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2012. She was at her home when she left this world. She was 83.

Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 P. M. on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Graveside services to follow at 2 P. M. in Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Hosea Parker officiating and Ward Wilson Directing.

One of eight children, Evelyn was married to John Frank Langford for 62 years. They lived in Luverne, Alabama until 1952 when they moved to Dothan. She was the mother of four children, and was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Travis A. Langford.

Evelyn has three remaining children; Judy Tindell and husband Lamar, Dianne Langford and husband David and Jennifer Baucom and husband Guy, and a daughter in Law, June Clark Langford.  She was blessed by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a great granddaughter, to be born in August. She has two remaining sisters and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was a faithful member of Selma Baptist Church for many, many years where she worked with small children and young people and taught her Sunday School Class. She was also a foster grandparent at Selma Street School for 13 years, where she was a recipient of many awards for her excellent service. Evelyn enjoyed working at Selma Street School very much because of her great love for children.

She was a loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother. A friend to many, she had a caring spirit and will be greatly missed by many who have been good and faithful neighbors for over 50 years.
