Sheriff's Office: Man Sodomized Child Over Four Year Period

A Cowarts man has been accused of sodomizing a child under the age of twelve.  Joseph Jay Vaughn, 41, faces four criminal charges involving sodomy and sexual abuse.

"The Houston County Sheriff's Office received information of possible sexual assaults and the investigation led to evidence that the assaults had been occurring over four years," said Captain Antonio Gonzalez.  He continued, "This investigation is ongoing with possible additional charges." 

Gonzalez gave no other information regarding the charges.
