Tuesday, Garrett was released from his duties as head baseball coach of the Cougars but for more than just the ejection according Dothan City Schools Superintendent Tim Wilder.
Wilder confirmed the report saying Garrett was let go for a personal decision the coach made off the field. The matter does not involve any inappropriate behavior with any student or any legal matter. Wilder indicated he was not happy with the behavior of Garrett but he says the decision to fire the him was in consideration even before the ejection.
"Coach Garrett was a good coach but had poor decision making," Wilder said.
The Dothan City School Board were and still are investigating the Cougars head baseball coach over the matter in question and Wilder says it will all come out eventually.
Wilder has heard from numerous people supporting the coach but he says "when the facts come out, some of them might change their tune."
