Arkansas Police Chief In Critical Condition After Hit And Run Wreck

An Arkansas Police Chief is fighting for his life in a Panama City Hospital tonight after being ejected from his motorcycle in a Friday night hit and run. The man who police say is at fault is in jail.
It all started at about 8:15 p.m. on Friday night at the intersection of Thomas Drive and Quarts Street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Joe Landers was traveling west on Thomas Drive, when an east-bound Toyota Camry --- turned into his path. Landers was ejected from his motorcycle on impact.
Jimmy J. Cristo Jr., 52, the driver of the Camry then drove off. Cristo was later located on Hill Top Drive and arrested and charged with leaving the scene. He is accused of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Landers, the police chief in Lowell, Arkansas was transported for treatment of his injuries to Bay Medical Center. He remains hospitalized and is in critical condition.
