81% of the
students at Girard Middle School live at or below the poverty level.
School administrators say they won't let that statistic hold students back from achieving their goals. The school held a career fair to show students what they can accomplish with hard work and perseverance.
Elton Russ, the assistant principal at the school, said "we want to give the students the initial foundation to education and how the path really travels throughout life."
Many different careers
were represented at the career fair Tuesday, including the Army, the Medical Center
and Michelin Tire Company.
