TROY, Ala. - Troy opens a five-game homestand Tuesday night against Auburn at Riddle-Pace Field. First pitch between the Trojans and Tigers is set for 6 p.m.

This will be the final time for fans to watch Troy and Auburn square off as the series has not been renewed for the near future. Nearly 12,000 fans have watched the last five meetings between the two schools at Riddle-Pace Field.

The game will be broadcast live on the Troy IMG Sports Network with local coverage on 94.7 FM and worldwide coverage on TroyTrojans.com or via the Tune-In Radio app on your smartphone by searching for WTBF-FM. Fans can also follow the action on TroyTrojans.com with live stats and live video.

The Trojans have won the last two times the teams have met at Riddle-Pace Field including a 14-6 victory last season. Logan Pierce had four hits, including a grand slam, and seven RBIs to lead the Trojans that day.

This will be the second meeting between the two schools in a week as Auburn defeated Troy 7-4 last Tuesday in Auburn. The Trojans jumped out to a 2-0 lead and rallied late, but couldn't overcome a middle-inning charge by the Tigers.

Pierce continues to lead the race for the Sun Belt batting title after a pair of three-hit games over the weekend at Western Kentucky. The junior first baseman is batting .389 on the year with 13 doubles, four home runs and 37 RBIs.

The Trojans (17-22) enter the homestand looking to bounce back from a tough week on the road. Troy dropped three of its four contests last week despite outscoring its opponents 26-25 over the four games.

Freshman outfielder Jo-El Bennett had a breakthrough week with eight hits in 16 at-bats including four doubles. Bennett was 2-for-4 with one of his five RBIs on the week against the Tigers. As a team, the Trojans belted out 13 doubles and 16 extra-base hits last week.

Boone Shear and Danny Collins each hit their eighth home run of the season last week and are second and third on the team batting at .314 and .309 clips, respectively. Shear has reached base in 26 consecutive games and is second in the Sun Belt with 40 RBIs on the season.

Auburn (21-19) was swept at home by No. 6 South Carolina over the weekend and was outscored 28-15 in the series. The Tigers are led offensively by Ryan Tella's .385 batting average and .473 on-base percentage.

The Trojans continue their homestand on Wednesday against Alabama A&M at 6 p.m. before Florida Atlantic visits over the weekend for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series.
