Ashford Students Celebrate Earth Day

By: Megan Hunter
Updated: April 20, 2012

Ashford Elementary School students are "going green" this week. The entire first grade has been preparing for earth day this weekend.

They've made special craft pieces, written stories and read books on how to keep the earth clean.

Gina Douglas, a teacher at the school, said the week's activities are all in an effort to encourage green living. "This is just a way to get them to branch out and take a look at how we live and were we live. It's how we live in our homes, in our communities, and how we can take care of where we live."

Earth day is this Sunday.
