The Henry County community came out Tuesday to pay their final respects to the Scoggins sisters. 13-year-old Aaliyah and 11-year-old Haley were buried Tuesday at Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church of Abbeville.

The sisters died when their home on Henry County Road 46 burned down April 15th.  Aaliyah was a 7th grader at Abbeville High School and Haley went to Abbeville Elementary. The news of their deaths is unsettling for those who knew them best.

"It's one thing when it's adults but when its children it's totally different. They will be missed," said Nicci Turner. Turner attended church with the family.

People like Brenda Williams are hoping the family finds some comfort in knowing that the community is supporting them through their tragic loss.

"All of us are coming together to say our last goodbyes and farewells to the young children that lost their lives, but we're also here to let the family know that we are supporting them. We're behind you today, tomorrow, and forever," said Williams.
