Young Daniel "Snooks" Hughes of Chancellor, AL passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Enterprise. He was 84.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, April 14 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Reverend Cliff Quincey officiating. Burial will follow in the New Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 until 8 pm.
Mr. Hughes was born May 17, 1927 in Coffee County, AL to the late John D. and Minnie Belle Jackson Hughes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons: Kenneth Hughes, Ricky Hughes; 2 brothers: Arthur Hughes, Edgar Hughes; 1 sister, Mary Lou (Polly) Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Elouise F. Hughes, Enterprise; 2 sons: Dale Hughes (Vicky), Enterprise, Larry Hughes (Carolyn), Denver, CO; 2 daughters-in-law: Janice George and Judy Hughes, both of Enterprise; 1 sister, Susinette Howell, Enterprise; 3 brothers: Alvie D. Hughes, John Bell Hughes, J.R. Hughes, all of Enterprise; 2 half-sisters: Vonnie Lee and Jessie Johnson, both of Enterprise; 2 half-brothers: Harrison Hughes, Opp, AL, Wendell Hughes, Enterprise; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
