Auburn's White Gives Up Football After Injury

By: Josh Rultenberg
Updated: April 5, 2012

Auburn head coach Gene Chizik has announced linebacker Jawara White will no longer play football due to a career-ending injury he sustained during spring practice.

The injury itself was not specified by Chizik or the school in their press release.

White redshirted in 2010 and in 2011 he had 23 tackles in 11 games.

The sophomore took to Twitter today and said, "giving up the game of football is the hardest thing I've ever had to do."

White will continue to attend classes at Auburn.
