Dothan PAL Grabs 11 State Titles

Updated: April 4, 2012
On Saturday, the Dothan Police Athletic League traveled to Tuscaloosa to compete in the State Golden Gloves Championships.

And after months of extensive training, the PAL brought back 11 state titles.

There were eight competitors who were simply named champions because they were unopposed, meaning, their opponents were unwilling to box against them and three others fought their way to the top.

Head Coach and League Director Johnny Trawick said he couldn't of been prouder of his team and that none of this would've been possible without Mayor Mike Schmitz and Dothan Police Chief Greg Benton.

Next up for the Dothan PAL champs is a trip to Knoxville, TN for regionals on April 11.
