Three people will share a record jackpot following Friday night's drawing in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery.  They will equally split a jackpot worth about $640-million dollars---or roughly $213-million each. The winning numbers are 2-4-23-38-46-and the Mega ball 23. The winning tickets were sold in Maryland, Kansas and Illinois.

Illinois' winning ticket was purchased near in an eastern suburb of St.Louis.  The Maryland ticket was bought in Baltimore while the Kansas ticket is believed to have been purchased in a rural area of the state.

Many people from Alabama traveled across the Chattahoochee River into Georgia to purchase Mega Millions tickets---hoping to pocket the largest lottery jackpot in history.  A small store in Hilton, GA (across the river from Columbia) saw lines for days as people from Dothan and other places hoped to get lucky.

While the jackpot pales in comparison, those who didn't win Mega Millions could try their luck in the Powerball drawing which is worth $60-million to a single winner.  Meanwhile, the Florida Lotto prize is and estimated $7-million.  Both drawings will be held Saturday night.
