Ashford's Alvarado awarded leadership grant

By: Josh Rultenberg
Updated: February 24, 2012
Ashford high school basketball player, Rafael Alvarado has won a National Leadership Grant sponsored by NCSA Athletic Recruiting and the NFLPA.

Alvarado was given the grant because he was one of only a few student atheletes, across the country, who best exemplified leadership in his community, academic and athletic achievement, and he submitted a required essay.

And as Rafael continues to try and further his education and basketball career, NCSA will work with him and his family until he graduates to help find a secondary institution that best fits his grades and skills.
