Nell Fortner resigning as Auburn women's basketball coach

Nell Fortner is stepping down as Auburn's women's basketball coach at the end of the season.

Fortner, who coached the United States to a gold medal in the 2000 Olympics, has a 143-105 record in eight seasons at Auburn, including a 51-65 SEC record. The Tigers are 11-16 overall and 3-11 in the SEC this season.

Auburn has two regular-season games remaining, against Alabama on Thursday and Ole Miss on Sunday, both in Auburn Arena.
