Electronic bingo lovers wait anxiously for bingo halls in the Bessemer Cutoff to reopen. In Fairfield, it is expected not to bring revenue back into the city but by to put people back to work.
Matt Tortorici operates Mister T's Lucky Seven Charity Bingo in Fairfield. He says there are a lot of people out there who need jobs, and they have called him in the last two days hoping he can help.
"We probably had 600 phone calls. We had 200 people fill out applications today alone."
ABC33/40 has learned a number of the bingo halls hope to re-open within the next 10 to 15 days. Tortorici hopes to re-open by April First.
"It's a sad day when we can't come to an equal medium or agreement as to whether we'll let people go back to work," says Fairfield City Councilor Fredrick Scott.
