Alabama Baseball Team Tops UAB In Mid-Week Showdown

UAB jumped out to an early lead, scoring a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Jack Frost. The Tide answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead.
Smith drove home Brock Bennett with a single, and Jon Kelton plated Jared Reaves with a single. The score stayed the same until the 5th inning, when the Blazers tied the game for the final time.
Frost drove home Nick Crawford for the second time, this time on an r.b.i. single, tying the game at 2-2. Alabama took control for good in the bottom of the 5th, with three runs.
Bennett singled home Jeremiah Tullidge, giving Alabama a 3-2 lead. Smith followed with a single, bringing home Bennett. Andrew Miller's r.b.i. single plated Reaves to make it 5-2.
UAB scored it's final run in the top of the 8th inning, as Frost scored when Jamal Austin was hit by a pitch. Alabama scored the game's final run in the bottom of the 8th inning on an r.b.i single from James Tullidge, scoring Miller.
