State Board Of Educaton To Meet With Alabama Congressional Delegation

A roundtable discussion between state education leaders and the Alabama Congressional delegation is set for Thursday morning in Montgomery beginning at ten o'clock.

State Superintendent Dr. Joe Morton, members of the Alabama State Board of Education, and members of the Alabama Congressional delegation will sit down to talk about policies and programs that will have an impact on the state's public education from the federal government's perspective. Some of the issues concern No Child Left Behind, federal funding for public education, and Race to the Top.

This is an open meeting, however, public participation will not be possible.

U.S. Representatives from the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th Congressional districts are slated to attend.
