Enterprise Boys & Girls Fall At Central Regional Tournament

The state's top-ranked Class 6A Boys Basketball Team was pushed to the limit on Tuesday night. Roquez Johnson scored five points in the final two minutes, lifting Carver-Montgomery past Enterprise 71-66 at the Central Regional Tournament in Montgomery.

This game wasn't decided until the final seconds, when Ron Smith hit two free throws to put the game out of reach. Craig Sword led the Wolverines with 23 points, while Johnson and Jeremy Johnson added 16 points each.

Rhett Harrelson led Enterprise with 22 points. The Wildcats end the year with a 19-12 record.


Jeff Davis - 54  Enterprise - 50 - 6A Central Regional Girls Semifinal

Jatoria Carter scored 26 points, leading Jeff Davis past Enterprise 54-50 in the Class 6A Central Regional Tournament in Montgomery. Jeff Davis hit six free throws in the final minute to break a 48 all tie and advance to Saturday's 6A Regional Title Game.

Emily Davis led Enterprise with 24 points. The Wildcats end the year with a 28-3 record.

Class 2A South Regional Tournament - Mobile

Andrew Bolden scored 27 points, including six 3-pointers, leading Houston County past Elba 77-64 at the 2A South Regional Semifinal in Mobile today. The Lions will face Barbour County for the 2A Regional title on Saturday.

Tyreek Granger added 17 points for the Lions, who advanced to their third straight 2A Regional Final. Ben Goosby led Elba with 28 points and nine rebounds.


Barbour County - 57  Cottage Hill Christian - 45

Takwain Whigham scored 18 points, leading Barbour County past Cottage Hill Christian 57-45 in the 2A South Regional Semifinal this morning. The Jaguars will face Houston County for the 2A Regional title on Saturday.

This will be the third meeting between Barbour County and Houston County this year, with both teams winning a game at home. The Jaguars and Lions have won the past four South Regional titles, advancing to the Final Four in Birmingham.

Cody Wyatt led Cottage Hill with 18 points.


Barbour County Girls - 44  Elba - 36

Jada White scored 16 points, leading Barbour County past Elba 44-36 in the Class 2A Girls South Regional Semifinal this morning in Mobile. The Lady Jaguars advanced to face Samson for the 2A Regional title on Saturday.

Tiffany Brooks added 13 points for Barbour County. Reality Singletary led Elba with 11 points.


Samson - 51  Houston County - 44

Amber Moore and Shaundre' Hornsby scored 15 points, leading Samson past Houston County 51-44 in the Class 2A Girls South Regional Semifinal. Samson will face Barbour County for the 2A Regional title on Saturday.

Tiffany Worlds scored a game-high 17 points for Houston County in the losing effort. All South Regional games are being played at the Mitchell Center on the campus of South Alabama.
