Geneva Girls Basketball Team Advances At South Regional

The Geneva Girls Basketball Team has advanced to the Class 3A South Regional Final at the Mitchell Center In Mobile. The Lady Panthers started the game on a 16-3 run, and held on for the win.

Geneva will face Montgomery Academy on Friday for the South Regional title and a trip to the Final Four in Birmingham. The Eagles beat Abbevlle 69-27 earlier in the day.

Miah Brooks scored 25 points, leading Montgomery Academy past Abbeville in a Class 3A Semifinal match-up at the South Regional Tournament. Brittany Collins led Abbeville with 12 points in the losing effort.


Class 3A Boys South Regional Tournament

Abbeville missed a three-point shot with four seconds remaining, and Trinity survived a wild finish to beat the Yellow Jackets 58-53. Trinity will face Clarke County for the 3A South Regional title on Friday.

Blake Struthers led Trinity with 22 points. Cordarius King scored 18 points for Abbeville in the losing effort.

Clarke County - 76  Luverne - 68

Clarke County advanced to the Class 3A South Regional title game on Friday, topping Luverne 76-68. The Bulldogs will face Trinity for the championship and a spot in the Final Four next week in Birmingham.

Jamal Harris led Clarke County with 28 points. Tige Townsend paced Luverne with 21 points in the losing effort.
