BREAKING: Child Dead After Hit And Run Crash In Conecuh County

A child is dead after a hit and run crash Monday morning in Conecuh County.

A suspect has been arrested but authorities are not releasing the identities of the victim or the suspect at this time.

The crash happened in a construction zone along Highway 42. The child was being taken to school in a private vehicle when authorities say the suspect hit the rear of the vehicle.

The suspect then stole another vehicle belonging to a construction crew and fled the scene. The man wrecked the second vehicle and was arrested.
