University Of Alabama President Responds To Racial Slur Incident

Students, staff and faculty at the University of Alabama received an
email from President Robert Witt over the weekend about the use of a
racial slur on campus.
In the statement, Dr. Witt wrote the university finds, "this behavior totally unacceptable." He added that the student who used the slur against another student would face disciplinary action. However, administrators did not say what form the discipline would take.

University spokesman Bill McDaniel said privacy laws prevented officials from releasing more details or the names of the students involved. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday. The e-mail was sent on Saturday.
