Nine Covington County Officials Change Parties

Nine elected officials have changed from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party in Covington County.

Judges Trippy McQuire and Lex Short, Sheriff Dennis Meeks, and Commissioner Bragg Carter all made the switch.

In addition, school board members John Clark, Jeff Bailey, Linda Powell, and Jimmy Rogers switched to the Republican Party.

Coroner Norman Hobson changed parties as well.

All nine officials agreed to sign a party change agreement before an official announcement was made by the Covington County Republican Party.
