Storytelling Festival Coming To Troy January 29

This year’s festival will feature award-winning banjo player and author Shelia Kay Adams, nationally known storyteller Donald Davis, award-winning songwriter and veteran storyteller Michael Reo Harrell and National Storytelling Circle of Excellence member Barbara McBride-Smith.
Storytelling concerts are scheduled for 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission to the first two shows cost $10, and the third will be $15. Tickets are available for the entire day of performances for $30. Arrive 30 minutes early to enjoy pre-show music by traditional musicians before each event.

On Jan. 28, Michael Reno Harrell, will perform a free show for Troy University students, faculty, staff, and students. The event will begin at 11 a.m. in the Trojan Center Theatre.
Harrell’s style has been described as being “like a breakfast of butter and molasses on a warm biscuit: southern, easy and sweet.”
