Auburn's Heisman-winning quarterback Cam Newton says he is finished with college, and he's ready for the NFL.

Newton made his announcement Thursday night, less than three days after Auburn won the BCS National Championship.  Newton was in his first year playing for Auburn.

In that one year he racked up a list of school records and national awards.  He of course also led the team to its first national title in more than 50 years.

"It was a very hard decision for me, a bittersweet decision, especially after coming off a great season at Auburn," Newton said.

He is predicted to be the second quarterback drafted this year, with the 14th overall pick.

"I'm blessed to have been around an excellent environment," he said as he made his announcement standing next to his Heisman Trophy.
