Updated: January 13, 2011

Two Alabama prison workers were fired and four others resigned after an investigation into a prisoner's death.  Prison officials said he attacked a female officer at the prison on August 4
and died from the injuries he sustained when officers attacked him.

The state corrections department says its internal investigation shows six officers violated prison rules when they responded to the attack.

The department says state agents determined the incidents that occurred may be crimes.  Commissioner Richard Allen has asked prosecutors to review possible charges.
