Walton County Conducting Prescribed Burn

By: Stephen Crews
Updated: January 13, 2011

The Division of Forestry will be conducting a 216 acre prescribed burn in the area north of Somerset Bridge Road in Seagrove, FL.  The burn will take place Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Due to the prevailing wind direction and atmospheric conditions, smoke should lift and drift to the south.  As always, the South Walton Fire District is monitoring the conditions. If you encounter smoke on any roads, you are encouraged to please slow down and use caution.

It is anticipated that the smoke will dissipate once the burns have been completed

Please contact the Division of Forestry at 850-547-7083 with any questions you may have regarding this prescribed burn.
