Riverwalk Stadium will be the site of this year's new year celebration. The event is on December 31st and will begin at 8:00pm and last until 1:00am. The celebration includes party favors, drink specials, music by Fontaine Entertainment, dancing, concessions for purchase, commemorative photos for purchase, a huge firework show at midnight, and a champagne toast. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event.

"We're going to have excitement for everybody, this of course is a friendly event," stated event coordinator Denise Welch.

The venue is a change from last year, as is the price of admission. However the changes will be reflected in the quality of the event, something Mrs. Welch hopes to improve on year to year.

"We're just trying to upscale it a little bit this year," stated Welch. "You always want to make changes and improve every year."

The Harriott II will also be improving upon last year's new years cruise. The two hour ride includes entertainment, party favors, a champagne toast, a view of the fireworks, hor deurves, and a cash bar for this year's celebration.

The riverboat will board at 10:00pm and cruise until 12:30am. Tickets for the cruise are $50 per adult.
