Walton County sheriff’s officials are investigating how a woman died Saturday.

Authorities say they got a 911 call around 6am, in reference to a possible assault involving a man and woman.

Deputies showed up to find 37-year-old Adriana Brown dead.

The incident happened at the Pointe of View apartment complex on Sandestin Lane.

Police think that Brown’s neighbor, 42-year-old Steven Gerrard Ritchie, murdered her.  Ritchie confessed to the crime and even led investigators to Brown’s body in apartment number 109.  The suspect allegedly choked the woman.

He was booked into the Walton County Jail and is awaiting first appearance.

An autopsy by the district one medical examiner will determine what exactly how the victim died.
