Deputies are investigating an apparent drowning death of a two-year-old.

Emergency personnel were called to a home on Massachusetts Avenue in Fort Walton Beach just before 1 p.m. Saturday, according to a press release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy was given CPR at the scene and taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, but did not survive.

“The initial indications are that it was just a tragic accident,” said Michele Nicholson, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Nicholson declined to release any additional details on the incident, but said more information should be available after the autopsy is complete.
