Governor Bob Riley spoke to lawmakers Tuesday evening as they met for the special session he called to deal with ethics legislation.

Governor Riley told the members of the House and Senate that gathered at the the Capitol that voters sent them a message on November the 2nd.  A message Riley say the legislature must act on now.

"The people of Alabama have spoken with resounding form and unmistakable clarity.  They said we are sick of the corruption.  We won't tolerate unethical leadership.  We demand ethics reform  And ladies and gentlemen, they demand it now," Riley said.

Riley has submitted seven different bills on ethics reform.  They cover issues like eliminating money transfers between politcal action committees and limiting the amount lobbyists can spend on lawmakers to $25 per occasion.
