A national association of marketing and communication professionals has recognized Troy University for its efforts in the field.

The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals’ MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing professionals from individual communicators to media conglomerates, Fortune 500 companies and national public relations organizations.

During this year’s competition, TROY earned four platinum awards, three gold awards and one honorable mention for its work.

“Troy University: A Decade of Distinction,” the University’s 10-year report earned platinum honors in both design and educational institution categories, while its “Building Beyond Boundaries” video and “Troy University Video” earned platinum awards in video fund raiser and educational institution categories. The Troy University Magazine, “Prepare for Tomorrow” television commercial campaign and “Connect Here” viewbook all took gold awards. “Lessons,” a specialty publication of the College of Education received an honorable mention for design in the newsletter category.

About 5,000 entries were judged by industry professionals who look for those whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. Only about 15 percent of the entries earned platinum awards, according to the Association.

“This yet again is proof that Troy University is sharing its story in new and unique ways and doing so by setting a standard for others to achieve,” said Dr. John Schmidt, Senior Vice Chancellor for Advancement and External Relations. “We are pleased to be recognized in this manner and we commend our marketing and communication team for a job well done.”
