Gabe Watson Waives Extradition To Face Trial In Alabama

Updated: November 30, 2010

The Hoover man, accused of murdering his wife on their Australian honeymoon, waived his extradition rights in Los Angeles Tuesday.  Authorities now have 10 days to return him to Alabama.

Gabe Watson appeared in court, without handcuffs. He was arrested in California last week, after arriving from Australia.  He is wanted in Alabama for capital murder in the death of his wife, Tina.  Prosecutors believe Watson devised a plan to kill her in Alabama before the trip.

Watson served 18-months in an Australian prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
