Alabama House Democrats Meeting Tomorrow To Elect Minority Leaders

By: Stephen Crews
Updated: November 29, 2010

Alabama House Democrats meet Tuesday to do something none of them has ever done before: elect minority leaders.

Russellville's Roger Bedford has already been elected minority leader in the senate.

Republicans chose their leaders shortly after taking control of both chambers.  State Rep. Jay Love of Montgomery and former State Sen. Bill Armistead of Columbiana are competing to be the next chairman of the Alabama Republican party.

The party's executive committee meets in February to elect a replacement for Mike Hubbard, who has been nominated to be Speaker of the House.
