Cottonwood Man Arrested In Jackson County After Brief Chase

On 11-20-2010, at approximately 8:05 PM, a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office observed a white Cadillac with no taillights traveling in the area of Malone School.

The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle; the vehicle failed to yield and continued to turn onto Hwy 2 westbound at a high rate of speed in an attempt to elude the deputy.

The pursuit continued until the defendant crashed the vehicle he was driving on Ulyss Road east of Sellers Road in the northwest region of the county.

The defendant then exited the crashed vehicle and attempted to flee from the deputy on foot but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without further incident. 

The defendant is charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, felony DWLSR, criminal reckless driving, a VOP warrant out of Okaloosa County, Florida, and several other traffic violations.

The defendant is housed in the Jackson County Correctional Facility awaiting first appearance.
