Marianna Police say they arrested a 14-year-old for apparently driving drunk Thursday on St. John’s Street in Marianna.

Police chased the vehicle after they saw the car traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officers say the driver lost control striking an embankment and going airborne. The vehicle then continued through a yard before striking a power pole and concrete retaining wall.

Officers were able to take the juvenile suspect into custody without further incident.

The suspect was found to be a fourteen year old white female.

She was transported to Jackson Hospital with minor injuries and was treated and released.

After making contact with the owner of the vehicle it was found that the vehicle had been stolen from a family friend of the suspect.

The suspect was later turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice for secure detention.
