Jury selection was expected to begin Monday morning for the man accused of killing an Auburn University student.

Courtney Lockhart is accused of killing freshman Lauren Burk in March 2008. Police say Lockhart abducted Burk before shooting her and dumping her body in a roadway.  Police say he then set her car on fire.

Lockhart faces kidnapping, attempted rape and capital murder charges.

Police say 26 year-old Lockhart confessed to the killing after his arrest. The judge has placed a gag order on everyone involved with the trial to keep pre-trial publicity to a minimum.
