Friends Of Ozark Book Sale Planned For November 6

By: Stephen Crews
Updated: October 27, 2010

The Friends of the Ozark/Dale County Library will host a Fall Book Sale at the library on Saturday, November 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In this sale there will be all kinds of books from fiction, non-fiction, biographies, reference books, popular authors’ books, first edition books, children’s books, and textbooks.  Prices on these books in almost new condition will be from 25 cents to $4.50.

The children’s books will be on sale at particularly low prices, and there are a lot of children’s books in this sale.

There will be a lot of movie videos in this sale.  Most of these videos are marked at 50 cents.

Some items in the sale that are in less than new condition will be marked “free”.  All items will be sorted by category, and the free items will be mixed with the category.  Other very old books that will make fine reading will be marked at rock bottom prices.

There are several sets of books on health care, world history, and home repair.

Just in time for Christmas will be books on holiday cooking and decorating instructions.  Also, there will be first edition books, gift quality books, antique books, collectible books, and a section called “Little Treasures.”

Besides books there will be a section of figurines, art prints, and maps.

Magazines will be another section of this sale.  There are magazines for boat builders, Studebaker owners, and crafters.  There is a full supply of National Geographic magazines, some Mother Earth News, American Heritage (hard and soft covers), and Alabama Heritage.

There are educational materials that will be of particular interest to home schoolers and teachers.

Also in this sale are magazines and pamphlets for tole painting, cross-stitching, macramé, china painting, and other arts and crafts.  Most of these are in new conditions and have patterns for beautiful projects.  There are pamphlets for remodeling the house, training pets, cooking, gardening, and sewing.

Because of the recent large donations to the Friends of the Library this will be one of the best sales they have held.

All money made at these Friends of the Library book sales goes to help the Ozark/Dale County Public Library in various needs.  This past year one thing that Friends of the Library purchased for the library was the new sign out front.

This Fall Book Sale will be held at the library on Saturday morning, November 6 beginning at 8 a.m.  It will only last until 1 p.m.  Come early to get the best selection.
