Kevin Presley returned to WDHN News as assistant news director and weeknight anchor in August, 2010.
He is no stranger to southeast Alabama
having co-anchored the nightly newscasts on WDHN until 2008. Kevin is
originally from Wichita, KS. He got his first job in television news at
KAKE-TV in Wichita in the early 1990's. In 1996, he moved to the
Wiregrass to serve as a minister for a church. In 2004, he returned to
television news and spent the next four years as an anchor, reporter and
producer for WDHN.
Kevin has had a leading role in our coverage of breaking stories that drew national attention including the landfall of Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and the Enterprise tornado in 2007. Most recently, he anchored breaking coverage of the Dale County school bus shooting where a little boy was taken hostage. He spent six days at the scene as the standoff continued and reported live as the end of the standoff unfolded.
Kevin also enjoys telling interesting feature stories from around the Wiregrass. His personal favorite is the story of "Little Godfrey Cordial", the story of a 130-year old gravestone in rural Henry County bearing the wrong name.
Kevin is married with two young daughters. Aside from
being a news junkie, Kevin loves music, photography, bass fishing and
traveling. He is also a minister with the churches of Christ and is invited to speak at churches across the nation. He has also done mission work in the Philippines.
