It will be a little harder to get into some federal buildings beginning next year, says Alabama's Assistant Public Safety Director.
LTC. F.A. "Bubba" Bingham spoke to the Enterprise Rotary Club Tuesday about a standardized form of identification called "Real I.D." The new card, or a passport, will be required in order to enter any federal building where official identification is needed.
Bingham says the Real I.D. will verify certain information about a person, such as their social security number, legal residence and real name. He emphasized tht Real I.D. will be needed only by people who enter a federal building where official identification is required.
