New security measures are in place at the Dothan City Commission Chambers. Monday-- for the first time-- those sitting in on the meeting had to pass through a metal detector.
The machine was installed several weeks ago but Monday was the first time it was used. The metal detector was suggested by Dothan Police after city commissioners asked for a new security plan.
The method was selected because police consider it the quickest, most efficient way to screen people.
