Its hard to miss Jermaine Reynolds trimming bushes in his bright orange shirt.

"We try to keep it light colors.  Trying to keep us cool.  Dark colors will keep us hot." said Greengo's Car Wash Owner Jermaine Reynolds.

During his 12 hour work day----he sweats-- a lot.

"Really hot.  It feels like its about 100 degrees every day," said Reynolds.

Jermaine is fully aware of the steps to take to protect himself.

But The Dothan Fire Department has had one too many calls regarding heat emergencies.

Public information officer Captain Chris Etheredge said, "People who have been exposed to the extreme conditions with the high heat index and high temperatures throughout the regions."

While Jermaine and his employees are exposed to the heat---they take necessary precautions.

Reynolds said, "They try to make sure that they stay cool.  Got pleanty of rags to clean their faces off.  Pleanty of water.  Gatorade if it's needed."

Russell Bryan is grateful his job usually has him surrounded by trees.

"As you can see there's not a lot of trees around here but you know we are fortunate enough sometimes to have trees and some shade," said Bryan.

Russell prefers to not push the limits while he's working outside.

"There's been several times where we've had to stop early.  It's safer to stop early then continue going," said Bryan.

With a wet cloth around his neck----Jermaine feels he can take on the heat.

"Everybody can handle it.  They do get tired.  They get tired a lot.  They are grown men so we all can handle it.  But they do get hot," said Reynolds.

Jermaine and Russell seem to handle the heat well.

Lets hope the heat doesn't get the best of us.
