Clarence Robert “Hammerhead” Blalock

Clarence Robert “Hammerhead” Blalock, a resident of Eufaula, died Monday July 12, 2010 at Westside Terrace. He was 67. Memorial services for Mr. Blalock will be held at 2 PM Friday July 16, 2010 at Hickory Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Abbeville with Rev. Thomas “PeeWee” Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Blalock was born in Abbeville, AL to Charlie and Iona Blankenship Blalock on August 23, 1942. He retired from Chattahoochee Veneer as an Assistant Plant Manager. Mr. Blalock loved telling fish tales and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Liz Hartfield (Tim), Cottonwood; son and daughter in law, Tim Blalock (Susie), Slocomb; four grandchildren, Christopher, Iona, Dakota and Jacob; special friend, Della Exum, Eufaula and lifelong friend, Pug Cummings, Abbeville.
