Mrs. Pamie Grey Whitehead Hobbs

Mrs. Pamie Grey Whitehead Hobbs, a resident of Dothan and a former resident of Ashford, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Extendicare Health & Rehab Center after an extended illness. She was 91. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel located on West Main St. with Pastor Eric Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:50 A.M. Tuesday prior to service time. Mrs. Hobbs was born in Houston County, AL and lived most her life in the Ashford area. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Dothan. Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hobbs, her parents, Ashey Elbert and Susannah Whitehead, four sisters and seven brothers.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Carl Hobbs (Eva Lynn), Dothan, AL, Lerry Hobbs (Wanda), Greenwood, FL, Jerry Hobbs, Dothan, AL, Jerome Hobbs, Panama City, FL; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank a special niece and nephew, Janice and Bobby Layton, for their faithful visits and encouragement to her over the years.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Layton, Tommy Whitehead, Roger Riley, Bernard Womack, Rodney Whaley and Earl Jerkins. byrdfuneralhome.com
