A funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Taylor will be 10 A.M. Friday, July 2, 2010 in the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Thaxton Whiddon officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Taylor was born in Houston County on September 24, 1924, the son of the late Oscar Taylor and Quillie Martin Taylor.. He retired from the United States Air National Guard after 32 years of service and also Hedstrom after 30 years. He was still very active working at Hunts everyday and loved soft ball, Alabama Football, Atlanta Braves and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lura Taylor and sister, Geraldin Bowens.
Mr. Taylor leaves behind to cherish his memories son and daughter in law, Donald Ray and Robin Taylor of Dothan, son, Mike Taylor of Midland City, daughter and son in law, Glenda and Ronnie Campbell of Dothan, daughter, Vera Mae Taylor of Dothan, brothers, Rob Taylor and his wife Betty, Bobby Taylor and his wife Jo, sister, Betty Calhoun, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and special friends, Tim and Wendy Reeves of Hunts Seafood.
Pallbearers will be Joe Cobb, Danny Baldwin, Ed Pritchard, Charlie Staton, Brian Marquez, Gene Stutts and Marian Whiddon.
