Paul Douglas Dismukes,
48, died in his home on Thursday, April 1, 2010.
Funeral services will be
held at 3 P.M. Monday, April 5, 2010, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel
with Reverend Steve Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford City
Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1 to 3 P.M. Monday, April 5, 2010. Flowers will be accepted.
Born in Montgomery to
Paul and Vanarie Dismukes, Doug resided in Dothan where he graduated from Dothan
High School in 1980, and in Ashford, where he worked on his family farm with
great pride. Doug enjoyed fishing with his beloved wife Sylvia on the weekends,
and he had a passion for horses and cattle. This passion was evident in Doug
from a young age, as he won numerous ribbons and awards for his work with the
animals, The family friends of Doug Dismukes will be at 5776 Lucy Grade Rd,
Ashford, AL; and also 4280 S. County Rd. 55, Ashford, AL.
He is preceded in death
by his father, Paul Ed Dismukes, grandfather, Loyd Shirah, sister, Julie
Dismukes Pike, and uncle, Jerry Shiver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Sylvia Dismukes, grarndmother, Ethel Shiver, step-daughter, Kimberly Stanford, step-son, SSGT Jason Stanford and his wife, Abby, brother, Micah Dismukes, grandchildren, Ariel McCray, DJ McCray, Bryant Stanford, Parker Stanford, and many loving friends, including Ronnie Moulton, whom Doug considered a brother, nieces, Abby Dismukes, Erin Pike, nephew, Corey Pike, Uncles, Wilmer Dismukes of Troy, Charles Dismukes of Dothan; and aunt and uncle, Gary and Marie Lawrence.
