Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Marshall, 92 of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in a local nursing home.
She moved to Panama City, Fla., in 1942 from Dothan. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Panama City, Fla. Mrs. Marshall was an avid golfer and a member of Panama City Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and gardening. She was also a member of the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club and the past president of the Yacht Club Ladies Auxillary.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Jimmy Marshall Sr. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Marshall Jr. and wife, Margie, of Panama City, Fla., David Marshall and wife, Renate, of Dothan; give grandchildren, Jay Marshall and wife, Gena, of Vernon, Fla., Scott Marshall and wife, Stacey, of Lynn Haven, Fla., Lisa Powell and husband, Scott, of Dothan, Matt Marshall and wife, Amy, of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Fred Marshall and wife, MaryBeth, of Dothan; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, as well as a very special caregiver, Karen Surginer of Panama City, Fla.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marshall will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with private interment services to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Family Life Center Building Fund at First United Methodist Church of Panama City, Fla.
