Mrs. Mary Dora McEnery Schlueter died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Flowers Hospital. She was 68.
A funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, from St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Den Irwin officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Dec. 3, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory at Memory Hill Cemetery. After the service on Tuesday, the family will be receiving friends at the home of Mary and Walter Schlueter, 409 A-3, Roosevelt Drive, in Dothan.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to Department of Veterans Affairs, Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System, West Campus, 215 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, AL 36109-3798.
Mrs. Schlueter was born Oct. 1, 1939 ,in Bronx, N.Y., to Charles and Katherin Quoma McEnery. She was a parishioner at St.
Columba Catholic Church, a member of the Elks Lodge and the National Railroad Historic Society. Mary was also the co-founder of the North Shore Hockey League.
Mrs. Schlueter is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marcy Kelly.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Walter Schlueter; her two sons, Walter Schlueter Jr. and his wife Eileen of Stroudsburg, Pa., William Schlueter and his wife Barbara of Wilton, Conn.; her brother, Charles McEnery and his wife Rose of Saugerties, N.Y.; her five grandchildren, Patrick, Alana, Gabriel, Kenan and Amelia Bea Schlueter.
