Funeral services for Mr. Donald Wayne "Duck" Brown, age 44, of Edwin Community, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Kent Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula. The Rev. Danny Henderson will officiate and burial will follow in New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Kent Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Visitation for Mr. Brown will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Kent Funeral Home. Mr. Brown died Monday, Nov. 26 at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 22, 1963, in Henry County, "Duck" was the son of Wayne and Christen Cordell Brown of Edwin Community. He was a lifelong resident of Edwin and was of the Baptist faith. "Duck" was an avid hunter and loved camping. He was vice President of the Texasville Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a civic volunteer.
Survivors other than his parents are his wife, Bridgette Brown of Edwin Community; three daughters and a stepdaughter, Heather Brown and Hanna Brown, both of Birmingham, and Carley Brown and Courtney Money, both of Edwin; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Lisa C. Brown, Abbeville; a sister, Donna Brown Barron, Edwin; his mother and father-in-law, Randall and Bennie Baxley, Texasville; special friends Paul and Gwen Hartzog, Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Joel Dasinger, Ashley Griffin, Jay Fenn, Richard Hartzog, Norman Cordell and Donnie Spivey.
The family will accept flowers or suggest that donations be made to the Texasville Volunteer Fire Dept., c/o Henry Sellers, Highway 131, Clayton, AL 36016.
