Mr. Jesse Paul Godwin died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Phoebee Putney Hospital in Albany, GA.
Funeral services for Mr. Godwin will be 10 A.M.Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with the Reverend Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home tonight from 6 to 8 P.M. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Godwin was born July 27, 1944 in Dale County, the son of the late Jesse L. Godwin and Dora Cunningham Godwin. He served in Vietnam were he earned two Purple Hearts. He worked at Miller Brewing Company for 27 years until he retired. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Reynolds and Lillian Willis.
Mr. Godwin leaves behind to cherish his memories , sisters, Myrtie Anderson from Hodgesville, Agnes Watkins from Dothan, Levene Johnson and her husband Kenneth from Newton, Sue Corbin and her husband Max from Napier Field, brother Thomas Godwin and his wife Bobbie from Rehobeth and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tolton Anderson, Wayne Godwin, Freddie Watkins, Alan Johnson, Greg Johnson, and Sammy Willis.
